It is no secret that April is a stressful month for accountants. With deadlines to meet, problems to solve, and taxes to file, ADKF worked tirelessly to uphold our core value of service. In addition to meeting, and hopefully exceeding, our clients’ expectations, we strengthened our relationships with each other. Busy season is about teamwork. We leaned on each other to accomplish our goals and with most of our staff back in the office, there was a true sense of camaraderie and family that floated throughout the halls!
As much as we love busy season, we were happy to celebrate its end! We set aside our renewed sense of teamwork for an afternoon and competed against one another at Top Golf for our End of Busy Season Party. Together, the firm enjoyed lunch and a bit of friendly banter as we raced to take the top prizes. Our first, second, and third place winners proudly took home an official Top Golf medal for their efforts and everyone received a goodie bag complete with our 2023 Fiesta Medal, lottery tickets, and brand new ADKF Swag!
Our love of golf was seen far beyond the bays of Top Golf. ADKF was proud to be a sponsor, and participant, at several golf tournaments including the San Antonio Masonry Contractors Association Golf Classic and the 12th Annual Pars for Prevention hosted by the San Antonio Council on Alcohol & Drugs Awareness. ADKF team members were also spotted shooting clay pigeons at the 21st Annual Boy Scout Shoot Out, enjoying live music at An Evening Under the Stars for Communities in Schools, and partying the night away at the St. Pj’s Children’s Home Red Shoes Fiesta!
Our community service committee has also been busy planning and executing ways for all ADKF members to give back! We hosted a successful supply drive and hygiene kit build for Haven for Hope. The South Texas Blood & Tissue Bus visited us and ADKF, along with other tenants of McAllister Plaza, were able to save up to 3 lives with each donation! We also were proud sponsors of the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County’s Shoebox project, which puts together shoeboxes full of necessities that are then distributed to nonprofits throughout the community! In addition to our sponsorship, team members took an afternoon to assist in decorating and assembling the kits!
The last 3 months were full of great successes, both in and out of the office! With that, we plan to keep the momentum going and are excited to continuously achieve the goals of our clients, our community, and ourselves.
