This year ADKF not only supported our client, Communities in Schools of South Central Texas but also cheered on our very own Christopher Tucker, a Communities in Schools (CIS) Alumnus. CIS Rock n’ Roll for Kids is a fundraising event to support 30,000 at-risk students across 35 schools in 6 school districts. Communities in Schools staff often make the difference for at-risk students in the community.
Our tax intern, Christopher Tucker, was the guest speaker during the event and shared his CIS experience of how the program helped him during a devastating part of his life. At ADKF we are extremely grateful for Chis Douglas, CEO of CIS South Central Texas for introducing us to Christopher. He is one of six ADKF interns for the spring 2019 semester. Our tax and audit interns gain hands-on experience and the opportunity to work directly with our partners and staff.
During CIS Rock n’ Roll for kids, we were excited to hear next year CIS will host a Battle of the Bands for their fundraising event. This will help the CIS attract even more students to their program. We hope next year Battle of the Bands will still have creative and unique silent and live auction items since we had 2 winners at our table!
Tax Partner Rene Garcia, Director of Marketing Cristina Zalaznik, Senior Accountant Jennifer Graham and Accountants Clifford Peveto and Erin Shores, took advantage of the casual evening by donning their signature concert t-shirt look. Even though it is busy season our accountants still find time to “rock n’ roll” for the non-profits in our community.
