ADKF was honored to sponsor and attend the YWCA’s, Tenth Annual Women of Influence (WOI) Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019, at the Pearl Stables. YWCA is an important client of our firm. The honorees were Erika Prosper Nirenberg, who received the Empowering Woman Award, and Rosie Castro, community leader and volunteer, who received the Woman of Influence Award. Both women were interviewed and had enlightening and powerful messages to deliver. Mrs. Prosper Nirenberg, proudly introduced by her husband, Mayor of San Antonio, Ron Nirenberg, discussed her thoughts on women empowerment and the importance of childcare as a cultural imperative. Mrs. Castro, lovingly introduced by her son, former Mayor of San Antonio and now Presidential candidate, Julian Castro, offered her thoughts on community involvement.
Fun was had by everyone in attendance. There was a delicious meal, raffle prizes, and interesting conversation. The WOI luncheon is the primary fundraising event for the YWCA. ADKF was proud to take part in the event and support our client.
For more than 100 years, YWCA San Antonio has provided programs and services to develop personal empowerment and self-sufficiency in women and their families. The YWCA provides high-quality childcare, youth programs, mentoring for young women, economic empowerment, health, and senior services. The programs are sustained through contributions, grants and generous community support for the Women of Influence Luncheon.
ADKF supports numerous non-profits in our community by sponsoring charitable events and volunteering our time to further their cause. During 2019 we have supported San Antonio’s Light the Night, Alamo Area’s Partners for Animal Welfare (AAPAW,) United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, and the San Antonio CPA Society, to name a few. Our partners and managers also sit on numerous boards and support our local communities of San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Boerne.
