Every fall the ADKF recruiting team searches local universities for the next group of tax and audit interns for the spring semester. This year we met several candidates who are going to become very talented accountants one day. The recruiting team was busy hosting office tours, giving presentations to college accounting clubs, and getting to know students at Meet the Firms and other job fair type of events.

We enjoyed hosting students from Beta Alpha Psi and the Association of Latino Professional in Finance and Accounting for an office tour. The students had an opportunity to meet with our hiring tax and audit partners, Rene Garcia and Joe Hernandez, CPA. The tour included general information about the firm’s history, values, and how to apply for our internships. In addition to a tour of the office the students were able to ask questions to a panel of former interns and accountants who were unscripted!

The college recruiting website, Handshake, made collecting and reviewing resumes more efficient. Students from the University of Texas at San Antonio, University of Incarnate Ward and Texas State were all able to upload their resume and cover letter with ease and easily track where they were in the application process. We also collected several resumes through the San Antonio’s CPA Society’s Accounting Careers Workshop, UTSA’s Accounting Recruiting and Networking Expo, UIW’s Networking Reception, and Texas State’s Meet-the-Firms.

Our five interns for the Spring 2018 season have been selected and will start their internship January 16. In 2018 we will begin search again for Spring 2019 Interns hoping to have our final candidates selected before the end of the Spring 2018 semester. If you are interested in our full time paid internship in either tax or audit please send your resume to Cristina Zalaznik or attend a recruiting event on campus and speak with our team members on how you can join our growing team. View our internship description and responsibilities on our Employment page or find us on Handshake.
