The Bookkeeping Intern in our Accounting Services Department maintains records of financial transactions, reconciles accounts and posts transactions. This role may include financial analysis for our clients, sales tax filings and payroll accounting.

Position Type: Full Time

Location: San Antonio, and surrounding areas, travel is required

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Accounting or degree in process

• Experience in QuickBooks Online, preferred

• Strong customer service skills

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Excellent computer skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Highly organized and communicative, as others will rely on the accuracy of your information to make key decisions

• Enjoys team environment

• Enjoys problem solving and working with technology to streamline processes

• Ability to work offsite as needed with multiple clients, some travel required within the greater San Antonio area

• Must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Represent firm to clients both on the phone and face to face

• Foundational bookkeeping to include: creating a chart of accounts and financial statements; post journal entries, accounts payable and receivable; reconcile bank, credit card, accounts payable and receivable statements; printing trial balance; 3rd party payroll; other value added reporting

• Execute engagements efficiently, with strong attention to detail, and focus on quality

• Demonstrate a client focus and sense of urgency to address client needs

• Review clients’ financials and help develop solutions for clients

• Create journal entries to clean up client books

• Ability to work on multiple projects and client books

• Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records

• Process payroll reporting in compliance with state and federal laws through quarterly and annual reports

• Ability to convert books into a QuickBooks Online set of books and create new companies in QuickBooks Online

• Develop systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; define bookkeeping policies and procedures

• Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

• Other duties as needed and assigned

Expectations:

• Understanding overtime requirements

• This role will be off-site regularly for face-to-face client meetings

• Travel requirement < 15%
