Community in Action

Over the past few months, our firm has been actively involved in a wide range of community events, professional development opportunities, and volunteer initiatives. From gala dinners to hands-on service projects, our team has embraced every opportunity to connect, contribute, and celebrate with our partners and neighbors.

We kicked off the season by stepping into our best evening attire for a series of galas that brought together heart, purpose, and philanthropy. Camp CAMP’s Party in the Park invited us to celebrate and support a space where children with disabilities can experience the joy of summer camp. Communities in Schools Evening Under the Stars gave our team an opportunity to support the most vulnerable students in our area. At Project MEND’s Toast to Mobility, we raised our glasses to expanded access to medical equipment and mobility aids for those in need. We also attended the Vault: Fostering Community Fundraiser Dinner, a powerful evening dedicated to supporting foster children and the families who welcome them.

Our firm also took part in some high-energy fundraising events, including the PHCC (Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association) and ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors) clay shoots, where precision met purpose in the great outdoors. The Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas hosted a spirited golf tournament, giving us a fun way to support leadership development for young girls while enjoying some friendly competition on the green.

On the professional development front, we remained committed to learning and growth by participating in several key luncheons and speaker series. The YWCA’s Women of Influence luncheon reminded us of the importance of representation, leadership, and lifting up the next generation of changemakers. We were also proud to attend the Metro Chamber’s CFO Forum Luncheon, where our CAO, Sylvester Johnson, led an insightful conversation on the future of work and its financial implication. At the Agudas Legacy Luncheon, we honored the rich history and enduring impact of San Antonio’s Jewish community.

To further our own growth and community ties, team members attended the ABC Dynamic Speaker Series, featuring energizing talks on leadership and innovation, and the Women’s Chamber POWER Hour Luncheon, where we engaged in meaningful conversations with fellow professionals from across the city.

Of course, community engagement wouldn’t be complete without giving back through service. Our team volunteered for the Boysville Garden Beautification Project, spending the day outdoors to help refresh the landscape and create a more welcoming space for the children who live and thrive there. We also participated in the Valero Texas Open, not just as spectators, but as volunteers helping to support one of the city’s most iconic sporting events.

Finally, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of bright accounting students from UTSA to tour our office. The visit gave them a first-hand look at the culture and day-to-day life inside a public accounting firm, and it gave us a chance to connect with the next generation of professionals.

Whether we’re in business attire or garden gloves, our firm is committed to staying actively involved and engaged in the community we proudly serve. These past few months have reminded us that the true impact comes from showing up, working together, and finding joy in giving back.
