Connecting our Community through Involvement

Connecting our Community through Involvement

As we embark on the second quarter of the year, it's a fitting time to reflect on the whirlwind of events our team members attended in the community! From leadership training courses to charity galas, these gatherings have not only fostered networking opportunities but also contributed to meaningful causes and organizations.

We kicked off the year with a focus on professional development. Our team leads gathered for an interactive two-day leadership training course, aimed at honing essential skills, fostering effective leadership strategies, and creating goals for the firm. This collaborative experience provided attendees with invaluable insights on communication, teamwork, and relationship management. With the team’s refreshed set of skills, we felt even more confident going into busy season!

Also, in the month of January, the firm was excited to honor the latest team member, Briana Costa, earning her CPA license. With a firmwide luncheon, Briana’s hard work was recognized and celebrated. Becoming a CPA is no small feat, and ADKF is extremely proud of Briana’s dedication to the profession!

While we continued to better the firm from the inside, we also reached out to our clients and community for ways to get involved! The Allcat Claims Golf Tournament brought together golf enthusiasts and community leaders for a day of friendly competition and fundraising. Beyond the greens, participants supported a worthy cause, The Wounded Warrior Project, with proceeds from the tournament benefiting our nation’s heroes.

February saw a blend of philanthropy and celebration with events ranging from charity runs, community volunteer events, and anniversary galas!

The 18ten Ministries Run for the Kids drew participants of all ages to support initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children in need in Central America. Whether running, walking, or volunteering, attendees, including 2 of our  team members, came together to make a positive impact beyond just our San Antonio community.

The ADKF Volunteer Committee organized a group of staff members to roll up their sleeves and proudly sport a hair net at the San Antonio Food Bank Community Kitchen! Together the group cut, diced, chopped, and prepared various food items for that afternoon’s lunch service. Once the food was ready, the team lined up and served lunch to the community members of Haven for Hope!

Our final event of February was the North San Antonio Chamber’s 50th Anniversary Gala! It was a memorable occasion commemorating half a century of excellence, leadership, and community. Several of our Partners and Managers attended the celebration where they were able to mix, mingle, and engage with a multitude of San Antonio leaders. For ADKF, engaging with the community and those who impact it the most is a great way to make a difference and continue to better San Antonio!

March brought a focus on empowerment, advocacy, and giving back, with a lineup of events that celebrated diversity, supported vital causes, and gave the office a bit of fun!

The YWCA Women of Influence luncheon honored trailblazing women who have made significant contributions to the San Antonio community. Together, women from around the city, including many of our own staff, listened, collaborated, and supported one another. From business leaders to social activists, several inspirational women leaders shared their stories and insights, empowering others to strive for excellence, promote diversity, and effect positive change.

Later in the month, team members attended the CAMP Party at the Park, which celebrated the organization’s mission and raised money to ensure that finances are never a barrier for kids with disabilities to attend the adaptive and inclusive summer camp!

The Seton Home Gala in the Garden was a glamorous affair with a meaningful purpose, raising funds to support programs for mothers and their children. Through live auctions, donations, and sponsorships, the attendees demonstrated their commitment to providing essential resources and support for vulnerable young mothers and their children. ADKF was a proud sponsor, and our attendees had a wonderful time!

Finally, to round out the busy month of community sponsorships, the SAMCA Golf Tournament combined competition with philanthropy, as golfers teed off in support of the organization which works to provide the masonry industry in San Antonio with quality products, services, and workmanship! Beyond the fairways, the ADKF team connected with familiar faces and made new connections, strengthening bonds and making a positive impact through collective action.

Although we stay busy through our community outreach, we always have enough time to have a bit of office fun! Pi Day provided an exciting and educational opportunity to celebrate the mathematical constant π (pi). From lots of pie-eating to mathematical trivia challenges, the team got involved and celebrated the fun day together!

The final event of Q1 was a blood drive organized by our Volunteer Committee! The South Texas Blood & Tissue donor bus parked outside the San Antonio office for 5 hours and provided an opportunity for individuals to give the gift of life. With each donation, participants played a vital role in supporting healthcare providers and patients in need, and as a group we donated a total of 18 units!

The events held and attended from January through March exemplify the power of community engagement, professional development, and philanthropy! We are dedicated to drive positive change and strengthen bonds within society and best way to do so it by walking the walk. As we look ahead to the rest of the year, we plan to carry forward the spirit of collaboration, advocacy, and service that defines our efforts and who ADKF is!
