During summertime, our tax staff spends a portion of their time attending various continuing professional education courses or CPE. This month Kelly Boswell, CPA, and Nancy Meza, CPA, attended the two-day Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants Leadership Development Institute Situational Leadership Program at the LaCantera Resort. The class was taught by Dom Cingoranelli, CPA from the Succession Institute. The intensive class teaches managers how to learn to improve their effectiveness in supervising, delegating and developing staff. It entailed defining leadership, applying Situational Leadership techniques, and identifying and improving opportunities to help staff grow and develop. Participants not only listened and read over materials but actually acted out scenarios involving staff issues.
Way to go Kelly and Nancy for dedicating your time and talents to mentoring our professional staff and living out one of our firm values, knowledge. At Akin, Doherty, Klein & Feuge, P.C., we take personal responsibility to continuously seek knowledge in our clients’ industries and their goals, understand firm resources and leverage off the expertise of others- share knowledge and expertise with others and seek help when needed. They demonstrate knowledge by sharpening their supervising skills at the situational leadership CPE.
