Each year the Akin, Doherty, Klein & Feuge completes an evaluation of all employees. Team members are asked to evaluate their performance with respect to client-related matters, including meeting deadlines, accountability, client communication, quality of work, organizational skills, efficiency, technical knowledge, and planning. Each team member also evaluates their attitude, integrity, flexibility, leadership, interaction with co-workers and attendance. The next section of the evaluation asks the team member to comment about their past 12 months performance with the firm and if they participated in or were responsible for business development. The evaluation also explores what the team member hopes to accomplish, including “continue in your current position, take on added responsibility and commitments or reduce your commitment and hours of work.” Lastly, the evaluation provides an opportunity to discuss any specific suggestions for the team member or for the Firm to help achieve their goals. Once the team member completes the self-evaluation, the partners review the self-assessment, and a face to face annual review is completed. Then promotion season begins!
