33rd Annual Gruene Music & Wine Festival + Craft Beer Event happened October 10th-13th, and ADKF was excited to be a sponsor for another year. Tax Partner Rene Garcia, CPA, is both a Board Member and the Treasurer of the United Way of Comal County, who benefitted from the event. The weekend is full of fun events including live music, silent and live auctions, catered dinners, food trucks, artesian markets, beer tastings, and numerous vendors. This year, ADKF enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by the famous Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar, while enjoying a private show from the legendary country artist, Tanya Tucker, at Gruene Hall. One of the highlights of the evening was the live auctioning of signed guitars by such artists as George Strait, Lyle Lovett, Loretta Lynn, Tanya Tucker, and Garth Brooks, whose guitar sold for $16,000, to the highest bidder.
United Way of Comal County serves to improve the quality of life for people in Comal County by generating resources to meet the needs of the community. United Way of Comal County continues to achieve much success with the help of donors and many dedicated people working every day to make a difference in people’s lives. Their purpose is many-fold; they work to assess, on a continuing basis, the need for human service programs, work to develop financial resources, and deploy financial support. Within that scope, they achieve to muster community support and manage United Way resources as effectively as possible in a cost-efficient manner.
