ADKF was proud to be a distinguished sponsor at SAISD Foundation’s ninth annual Inspire Awards, Wednesday, October 2, 2019. The Inspire Awards is an evening filled with good food, drinks, and good company to celebrate and honor distinguished alumni and educators of the San Antonio Independent School District. This year’s honoree class included:
State Representative Diego Bernal – Jefferson High School
Founder and CEO, Yvonne Garcia of Market Vision – Burbank High School
President and CEO, Paula Gold-Williams of CPS Energy – Sam Houston High School
Chairman Emeritus, Cosmo F. Guido of Guido Construction – Jefferson High School
The evening also held both live and silent auction, with a variety of prizes. Everyone was excited to place their bids and anticipate their winnings. While ADKF attendees, Kelly Boswell, CPA, Tax Manager, and Treasurer of the SAISD Foundation Board, Kathleen Guerrero, Tax Senior, and Luis Rodriguez, Tax Staff, placed their bids, they were ultimately outbid. However, Tax Staff, Cliff Peveto and his wife Laura, Valerie Brauner, CPA, Tax Manager and her fiance Gus, Kelsie Tabbert, CPA, Tax Senior, Luis Maldonado, Tax Staff, and Angela Jacquez, Marketing & Communications Specialist, were all successful bidders. Cliff had attended the event for the past four years and participated in both auctions. “I like that I’m able to fund a program that helps kids that are at a disadvantage.” This was Angela’s third year to attend, and she felt proud to have had the opportunity to give back. “I loved going to an event that honors educators. They truly are the backbone of our society. Knowing that the money raised from this event goes to help our San Antonio community students and educators, means a lot to me.”
SAISD Foundation uses funds raised from the Inspire Awards for educational grants, innovative school and strategic programs, and student scholarships.
